Women want to feel good about themselves.
Early in his career, Dr. Ofer found a natural transition into cosmetic gynecology. Women undergoing gynecologic procedures, such as hysterectomy or treatment for prolapse don’t just want to correct the obvious medical problem; they want to feel great about themselves again and restore their body to the way it was in their youth. A sacrocolpopexy or cystocele repair can repair prolapsed uterus and bladder; however, Dr. Ofer is able to offer the unique skill set to combine these traditional procedures with techniques that can truly rejuvenate and restore your lower half so that you feel like you did before having kids or prior to when age and changes in metabolism changed your body.
Based on your specific anatomy and personal desires, Dr. Ofer can discuss with you options that include surgical or non-surgical vaginal tightening, reshaping of the labia and vaginal opening, lifting the clitoral hood to bring the area a more youthful look and feel or the use of platelet-rich plasma for the O-Shot to improved sexual sensation and orgasms.
It's not just about treatment...
but about minimizing risks.
Dr Ofer’s passions include an interest in hereditary gynecologic cancers. He lectures throughout the country on the importance of cancer family history and appropriate screening for hereditary cancers. In addition, he takes care of many women who carry these high-risk genes, such as BRCA (hereditary breast and ovarian cancer) and Lynch Syndrome (includes hereditary colorectal, endometrial and ovarian cancers). Through personalized cancer screening programs and prophylactic surgeries,
Dr. Ofer works with patients to minimize their cancer risks. After attending medical school at Syracuse Health Science Center, Dr. Ofer did his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where he received the prestigious Vietta Award of Excellence in surgery. He has been a partner in The Avery Center for Ob/Gyn for the past 13 years. The Avery Center is now a proud affiliate of Physicians for Women’s Health.
